What would you get?
My 13th wedding anniversary is coming up next month. I was thinking of doing something different this year and getting my husband a nice piece of jewelry to wear. He doesn't need another watch. He wears a wedding ring and had another ring he wears if we go out. I'm debating between a new ring with a few diamonds in it or a nice gold chain. I just have a hard time seeing my man in a gold necklace. I know he used to wear one back before we met, but in my head, I see the 70s guy with lots o' chest hair, shirt unbuttoned down to here and a thick gold chain dangling away. It makes me shudder. Honestly. The more I think about it, I think the mobster pinky ring is more appealing to me at this point.

Christian Videos
Many years ago, there was a company in my home town that would sell edited videos of mainstream movies. Take Titanic for example. There is one steamy love scene in the movie that probably caused many people not to see an otherwise decent flick. They would take blockbusters, edit out the swearing and nudity and then re-sell the video to the general public. They got into big trouble for doing this because of copyright laws. In order to get around this, they began selling videos and once the customer purchased said video, they would then edit out all the bad stuff. I thought this was ingenious because there are many families out there who want to see the new movies, but they don't want to hear the language or see the nudity. I think this is a viable option for many people who don't just want to watch Christian videos with the family.
Sometimes, it is the truth
This fellow dies and goes to heaven. God offers to answer three questions.
guy: "Why are girls so pretty?"
God: "So you'll like them."
guy: "Why are girls soft?"
God: "So you'll like them."
guy: "Why are girls so dumb?"
God: "So they'll like you."

I understand how diets can fail
Sometimes, when I'm exercising my guts out and I'm starving to death and I realize that I have eaten what I was supposed to, when I was supposed to, I get frustrated. I would like to grab a delicious chocolate cupcake and snarf it down. Sometimes, I crave an ice cold coke. Not a diet coke. They don't taste the same. In fact, most diet drinks leave that funky aftertaste in my mouth, even when I add lemon or lime. It frustrates me. I have considered taking a diet supplement but I am just not sure I want to go that road just yet. It's not like I feel hungry all the time, but when I do, I'm tired of fruit, vegetables and granola bars. I want a big fat juicy hamburger slathered in blue cheese dressing with onions and tomato on a whole wheat bun. Now THAT would satisfy my cravings.
Gift Ideas? Sale Items.
In the past month I have had three birthdays, two wedding parties and Mother's Day is right around the corner. As is my 13th wedding anniversary. I have a need for gifts and I always try to get something that I feel is unique as well as useful. Sometimes, that is hard. Sometimes, I have to find things that are on sale for a good price, while not appearing to be a cheap gift. Sometimes this is harder than it may look. I bought my mother in law a digital photo frame for her birthday last year. I loaded the photographs on it and wrapped it up pretty.
She hated it. She didn't like any of the photographs of herself or her husband. She went home and loaded it full of pictures of her dogs. I get that. I have pics of my dogs too. Sometimes, my gift ideas are way, way off.

Speaking of Fat Burners
I've been taking a stress reducer lately and I do notice a difference. I would have never pegged myself as a stress eater, however, apparently I am/was. I've stepped up my exercising and I am considering some other actions. I was looking to see what the best fat burners currently on the market are. I haven't made a decision yet, but I am getting close. I think I'll wait until I plateau or at least notice that my current caloric intact and exercises are not producing results. Right now, I'm seeing results so the age old saying "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" seems applicable here.

Annoying Telemarketers?
EVERYCALL.US can stop annoying telemarketers
Don't you hate it just as you sit down for dinner and the phone starts to ring and you know it is not for your kids because their friends all know not to call at that time. You know it is not for you because your friends are all on facebook or myspace.
I know. It happens to me all the time. I've wondered how to make them stop calling?

Kitchens excite me!
I have posted before about my desire to make some changes to my kitchen. I would love to have some granite counter tops. I would love to have a natural stone back splash and I would love to upgrade my appliances to some really clean looking stainless steel. I want a bay window with shelves for plants of all shapes and sizes. However, more than all of those things, more than I crave chocolate and late night chick flicks, the thing I covet the most is a new undermount sink and a really pretty faucet. A faucet that I can fit my big stew pan under and fill without having to perform acrobatics to get it out of the sink. A sink and faucet that would allow me to fill my canning pan absent the use of my sprayer. I don't want much, but what I do want, it eludes me.

You say toeMAto, I say toeMAHto
I would never call myself a fashionista. I do not follow fashion trends. I do not rotate my clothing with spring, summer, fall and winter lines. I wear jeans and tee shirts. Flip flops in the summer, tennis shoes in the winter. Perhaps the occasional boot. I have three dresses that I rotate for funerals and weddings. However, there are times when I do need specific, activity appropriate clothing. Like the first time I was going to ride a horse and I said to my mother in law, "don't I need some of those stretch pants things?"
You could have heard a pin drop. "Stretch pants things? You mean breeches" and I said "yes, those cute little stretchy pants that all the skinny people wear to ride."
I did not get invited back to ride.

sports gifts aren't just for the pros
My brother is one of those guys who loves all things sports. He watches every sport, plays many of them and knows facts and stats that would make some professionals weep. In the past, I've tried to get him gifts that were intellectually stimulating and then I would ask if he enjoyed such and such and his eyes would glaze over while he searched for some recollection of exactly what I was talking about. Last year my husband suggested that I get him some type of sports gifts and wouldn't you know it? He raves about the book I got him about the Celtics and the beach towel I got him with his old high school logo. I'd say I hit a home run on that one!

Be informed and ask questions
I recently began taking a pill to help me in my struggle to lose weight. Regardless of how much exercising I did, I continued to gain tummy weight. It was frustrating and irritating and the more work I did, the less I saw results. I had switched to diet soda if the craving struck, I cut out all sugars and most starches. I ate more salad and vegetables and proteins and none of it helped. I started walking on the treadmill daily but still I continued to gain. I had my thyroid tested and talked to my doctor. We finally agreed that I needed some kind of help, hence, the new pill I'm taking.
Before talking to my doctor though, I was doing some basic internet research and what I found really helpful when I was looking at various diet pill options was the ability to see a handful of different pills and compare them.
Before you start any diet pills or exercise regime, always check with your doctor first. Don't hurt yourself or harm yourself by jumping into anything. Do your homework, get second opinions and find the plan that works for you.

Wanna Snuggle?
I love all things that make my laundry soft and smell good and leave me warm and cozy feeling. Remember that old commercial where the lady pulled the big, soft, fluffy towels from the dryer and then held them close to her, breathing in the warmth and the heat? That's me on laundry day.
I love the new scents from Snuggle mostly because my house smells like I've been baking yummy treats all day. I use those plug in smelly things in the house and I always have Vanilla. The new Sweet Almond snuggle goes perfectly with my theme.
Click above or click here to get your $2 coupon on the new Snuggle scents. Try the Sweet Almond and you'll be in love like I am. I'm trying the Jojoba Essence next week. It's like Christmas in April!

Hormonal Acne Issues
When I was pregnant, I had a problem with acne. Not when I was a teenager, just when my hormones went completely whacko and I was pregnant. That is, until last year, when apparently, my hormones left the planet known as earth, traveled to some new galaxy and then returned to my body with weird things like hot flashes, leg aches and of all things, acne. Lately I have been looking for a new moisturizer that will not irritate my already irritable skin causing yet another break out on my chin and nose. What I should probably be looking for is best acne treatment that I can use when I am having a flair up.
